Visitation will be held for 85 year old Southampton resident Nellie M. Delury on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O'Connell Funeral Home located at 30 Little Plains Rd in Southampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary RC Church in Southampton. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
I have such wonderful memories of my Aunt Nellie. As the oldest of the cousins, I had a special realtionship with her. When I was about 10 years old, I spent two weeks with her, Uncle John and the kids. I felt so grown up. She told me stories of when she, Aunt Helen, and my mother (whom she called "Lulu") were growing up. I shall miss so much about her -- her sense of humor, her optimism, her bright spirit, her profound faith in a loving God. I wish you all peace. Carol

What a wonderful trip back in time to renew memories of our past. I recognized photos we ourselves have and cherish. May Aunt Nellie's family be comforted by these wonderful pictures and all the smiling faces. That is how I remember her the most ... always a big smile and big heart.
